Four decades of fastening innovation
02 December 2025
From a small Spanish distributor to a global fastener manufacturer and distributor, BRALO has embarked on a journey of continuous improvement and product innovation to become an efficient and dynamic organisation, which works closely with customers around the world to supply the right fastening solutions.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, BRALO’s journey has occurred in three clear stages. In the beginning, the manufacturer focused on building its brand and technical expertise in Spain, before soon expanding into France and Portugal. These early years centred around earning trust through quality, reliability and hard work.
The second stage was internationalisation, with BRALO expanding its reach across Europe and Latin America – opening offices and logistics centres in eight countries – an exciting time full of challenges, learning and satisfaction in seeing the company’s solutions reach new markets.
Finally came global expansion, which began with BRALO’s manufacturing plant in China, now celebrating its 20th anniversary. Since then, BRALO has built strong alliances and a worldwide distributor network, enabling the business to serve its customers with greater flexibility and proximity.
“Our journey has meant we’ve grown into a global family – one that shares a deep sense of commitment, pride and teamwork,” underlines BRALO. “At the heart of this success is, and always will be, our people. Today, BRALO employs more than 500 professionals around the world, united by the same vision and values. That’s what has truly driven our success over these 40 years.”
Another key aspect of BRALO’s success has been its continuous investment and innovation. Recently, the company has invested in state of the art simulation and digital manufacturing systems, as well as in automation and precision monitoring technologies for cold stamping processes. These investments were made to increase efficiency, ensure higher consistency and quality, as well as reduce production lead times and environmental impact. This investment has enabled the company to develop complex components with greater precision, shorten product development cycles, and provide its customers with more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. All of this strengthens BRALO’s competitiveness – while reinforcing trust with customers.
These investments also enable the company to continue to provide its customers with complete solutions for riveting in a wide range of industrial applications. From blind and structural rivets, lockbolts and rivet nuts, to manual and pneumatic tools, BRALO consistently expands its offering on an annual basis. Such drive for expansion has been at the heart of the business from the very start. “It may surprise some people to learn that during our first two years, we didn’t manufacture – we were only a distributor. Once we entered the fascinating world of cold forming – that’s when everything truly began,” comments BRALO.
BRALO adds: “In 40 years, the world has changed enormously – and it keeps changing every day. Fortunately, we’ve built a very diversified portfolio, both geographically and across industries. Of course, the automotive sector remains our main focus, but this diversification
helps us balance risk and seize new opportunities. It’s one of our greatest strengths, though it also demands clear direction, focus and strong leadership.”
Looking ahead, BRALO believes that manufacturing companies will need to become more agile, digital and sustainable – with advanced technologies, data driven processes, as well as close collaboration with both customers and suppliers, all being essential in order to remain a competitive player in the market.
“We see our role evolving from supplier to true partner,” outlines BRALO. “Providing engineering support, tailored solutions and collaboration from early design stages through delivery. We will rise to this challenge by continuing to invest in innovation, expanding our technical capabilities, and strengthening relationships across the supply chain – combining deep industry knowledge with flexibility to deliver maximum value.”
BRALO continues: “As several trends shape the fastener industry, such as sustainability, the growing popularity of lightweight materials, automation and digitisation, as well as customers and suppliers seeking local sources in order to reduce risk and improve responsiveness, we must react to this. Our presence with production plants on three continents, and ten distribution centres, positions us well to take advantage of this shift. We can provide fast, reliable access to products while maintaining high-quality and flexibility. With continued hard work and innovation, BRALO’s success story is set to continue for years to come.”
