WHISKAS launches Purradise campaign celebrating cat happiness

Whiskas is launching a new campaign, Purradise, to celebrate cat happiness and the joy of purring. The campaign will roll out across Europe in January 2025, bringing an interactive, imaginative world designed to represent the ultimate destination for feline contentment.

“Purradise exemplifies the feelings that cats experience upon tasting the high quality and delicious offerings from the Whiskas range,” said Annie Argyle, European brand director at Whiskas. “The ‘purr’ is the number one sign of cat enjoyment and happiness. Purrs are hard earned, but a sign of ultimate satisfaction for owners. Therefore, with this campaign, we wanted to take cats (and their parents) on a new sensory journey, turning each mealtime into a memorable experience that is both rooted in happiness and adapted to their individual preferences and needs.”

Purradise features six themed lands, each designed to appeal to different feline preferences. These include Gravy Lake, where cats can relax, Aroma Island, which highlights enticing scents, and Mount Crunch, where playful cats can “scale” a kibble-filled peak. The campaign will also introduce Whiskas Aromatic Selection, a new product range launching in 2025.

To engage pet owners, Whiskas partnered with cat behaviorist Dr. Tammie King from the Waltham Petcare Science Institute to develop six feline personality types. A Purrsonality Quiz will help owners identify their cat’s dominant traits and match them to the ideal Whiskas product and corresponding Purradise land.

Immersive digital and in-store experiences

The campaign will be promoted through digital, social media, radio, outdoor ads and in-store activations. Whiskas will feature digital billboards in iconic locations like London’s Piccadilly Circus, where pet owners can scan a QR code to access an interactive game and enter prize giveaways. A stop-motion animated ad series, directed by Isabel Garrett, brings Purradise to life using handcrafted sets.

Additionally, Whiskas will offer special promotions, including cash prizes and giveaways, to further engage cat owners in the Purradise experience.

According to Petfood Industry’s Top Pet Food Companies, Mars Petcare, a division of Mars, Inc., owns Whiskas and nearly 50 other pet food brands. Mars Petcare also owns the BluePearl chain of emergency and specialty veterinary care clinics Banfield and VCA animal hospitals.
